Helen has been involved with amateur theatre for as long as she can remember. Her parents, her husband, both her children, and one of her dogs, have all taken part in local productions and her late father was also a member of GODA. She has worked extensively with youth theatre and has a particular interest in encouraging the next generation of actors and technicians.

I know this has been said many times before variously over the years since February 1949 when not only was the Guild created, but also managed to stage its first ever outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream in September of the same year. Initially scheduled to run for 6 nights it ran for 8 and played to 4,000 people.
